My research interests lie in human-computer interaction, semantic and affective computing, personal informatics, and recommender systems. These interests are supported by my background in information visualization, linked data, and adaptive recommendation assistants. My primary goal is to develop technology that can mine and model a wider variety of user attributes (e.g., behaviors, moods, preferences, sociality) in order to create personalized interfaces and tools that are more attuned to user needs and better help people create, find, and use digital information. I am particularly interested in the domains of online contribution; personalized information retrieval; and personal informatics and coaching for health, well-being, and productivity.
My interests lie mainly at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Human Computer Interaction. I am currently working on network-centric recommendation systems.
I'm interested in the areas of human-computer interaction and computer mediated communication. My current research interests focus on how we can support emerging leaders in online text-based communication.
